Why learning automation is mandatory?

Before learning to code, it is always a good practice to know why we are doing this. So, let’s have a clear understanding on why we are learning test automation.

Automation has become the core for almost all of the IT and other industries. Most of the services based and product based industries have vast amount of resources for testing their products and services. With the rapid change in the software development life cycle there is also a change needed in the way we test things. A simple Java program associated with Selenium can perform tasks within minutes. So this is high time to move on to automation as there is a huge demand for automation developers.

Considering the above situation it would be wiser to learn test automation.

Now you know why. It’s time to know How?

With the rapid growth in technology and the mode of developing and delivering the software code has tremendously changed. This impact on development paved the way for rapid testing methodologies also and thus came the automation concept.

Almost 99% of the Automation is happening in the below way:

An IDE + A program written in any programming language + Testing frameworks and tools = Automated scripts.

What we are going to use?

  • An IDE = Eclipse
  • Programming language = Java (widely used)
  • Testing Framework / tools = Selenium, JUnit, TestNg

NOTE: No need to worry if you don't get any of these or all of these terms. We will get to know while evolving through this article.

Good luck in learning!
